Surprise!

Last night we drove over to the Haak Winery in Sante Fe for a surprise birthday party for Jose's officemate -- who also was our realtor. When we walked in, the people that were already there introduced themselves and said "are you NASA people or real estate people?" We laughed and said "both!" It was a surprise party for Mike's 40th birthday, and it looked like he was truly surprised when he walked down the stairs. He'd been expecting some wine tasting with his wife and two of their friends, but instead he got a party of about 30 people.

This was only the second time I've ever been to Haak, and it was a lot of fun. The party was in the cellar, so we chatted and laughed drank wine and ate food and cake while surrounded by barrels and bottles full of wine. A couple other guys from Jose's group were there as well, and they were cracking me up all night with crazy stories.

Now I've got to think of a reason to have another party there, because it was super fun. On our way out, we stopped and bought a bottle of their port to enjoy sometime this month. Yum!
