New Babies!

Congratulations to Jen and Gavin! Baby Eleanor and baby Drake were born early this morning.

Funny, we just had a big dinner at their house last night. We thought about playing some Rock Band, since Guitar Hero sent her into labor with Carina the last time, but we didn't. I distinctly remember saying as I walked out the door "call us if you go into labor!" And then my phone rang at 4:30 am. Group dinners are apparently the magic touch; the effect was just a few hours slower this time.

Becca got Carina up this morning but had to get to a meeting, so we switched off and I entertained her for a couple hours while the plumber showed up to fix their hot water. Entertaining a 2-year-old is kind of exhausting, especially when I haven't had my coffee! Ha. After that it was off to daycare, which she seemed to think was a letdown after getting to play with Becca and Sarah all morning. Here's Carina, not totally comprehending that she now has a baby brother and baby sister. I'm not sure the explanation of "it's time for the babies to come out" really got through, but she'll figure it out soon enough.
